What is Star Citizen?
Star Citizen is a huge MMO sandbox in which you can live out your sci-fi space fantasy. In the Persistent Universe, you move between cities, space stations, moons, planets and ships, take on missions or seek yourself an occupation.
The biggest attraction at the moment is immersion: you get out of bed, drive to the port of space, call your ship, go into the hangar, get in, start, jump to your destination via Quantum Travel and land again in a completely different place. Between these steps there are no classic loading screens as in many other games. Exactly this coherent experience makes the entry fascinating, but also slower and more needing explanation.
And all this happens in a world that you share with many other players. This makes Star Citizen feel less like a single level and more like a walk-in science fiction universe where you can be a pilot, dealer, miner, mercenary, savior, explorer or just curious traveller.
Game world and its places
Star Citizen consists of different star systems, cities, space stations, planets and moons. It is particularly important for new players to understand which places are suitable for entry and how different Stanton, Pyro and Nyx differ.
Spaceships and Marches
Spaceships are more than just vehicles in Star Citizen. They determine how you travel, fight, trade, transport cargo or explore the verse. At the same time, the various manufacturers have their own designs, strengths and roles.
What to do in 'Verse
Star Citizen offers various activities, from quiet delivery missions to mining and Cargo Hauling to Bounty Hunting, Salvage, Racing and Ship Combat. For beginners, it is important not to try everything out immediately, but to start with simple gameplay loops.
Alpha
Star Citizen is still located in Alpha. Many content is already playable, but systems, locations, missions, ships and technical functions can change, expand or join with updates.
