What is 50,000 UEC?
UEC is an in-game currency in the Star Citizen universe. Here, 50,000 UEC refers to the official starting balance from the referral program—not real money, a cash payout, or a discount on a Game Package.

Can you add a Star Citizen referral code later?
Enter the referral code during registration whenever possible. RSI's current official Referral Program FAQ documents a 24-hour window after account creation for a forgotten code. After that, RSI Support cannot add it, and a code already linked to an account cannot be changed.
If your account already exists, consult the official RSI Referral Program FAQ and the options shown in your RSI account. Check the code before completing registration rather than relying on the short grace period.
Referral code not working?
Pause before completing registration and check the following:
- You are on the official RSI domain, robertsspaceindustries.com.
- The referral field contains exactly STAR-NXJY-S3DP, with no extra spaces.
- The code is visible in the form before you complete registration.
- For an account that already exists, check the current official RSI guidance or contact RSI Support.
Referral code vs promo code
A referral code attributes a new RSI account to a player recommendation. A promo or voucher code belongs to a separate offer and may have its own terms or input field. It does not replace the referral code.
Does the referral code work with Free Fly?
Yes. You can create your free RSI account through the referral link and use that same account for an official Free Fly. When a Free Fly is active, no Game Package is required during its trial period.
Creating an account does not activate a Free Fly by itself. If no official Free Fly is running, you can still prepare the account and wait for a later chance to try the game.
Do I have to buy anything?
No. The account and referral code are free. You can wait, try Star Citizen during a Free Fly, and only then decide whether a small Starter Pack makes sense for you. Star Citizen is still in development, and waiting is a perfectly valid choice.
