Summary
- The IAE is a recurring ship expo featuring different manufacturers, presentations and potential opportunities to try ships.
- RSI publishes the dates, ships on display and offers separately for each edition.
- You can create a free RSI account with a referral code beforehand. You do not need to buy a Game Package yet.
What the IAE is about
The Intergalactic Aerospace Expo revolves around ships, manufacturers and presentations. It can help beginners understand different roles, ship sizes and play styles.
The sheer number of ships and offers can also be overwhelming. Enjoying an event does not make every offer a sensible purchase.
Test, don't collect
If RSI announces trial opportunities for an edition, use them to learn: How does a small ship feel? How easy is it to land? Which play style do you enjoy?
Those experiences are more valuable than trying to find the perfect ship immediately.
- Compare several types of ship at your own pace.
- Do not buy everything that looks interesting.
- Consider a Starter Pack only after testing the game.
Use a referral code before the IAE
If you want to create a new RSI account, enter your referral code during registration. It will then be linked to the account from the start.
You can then wait for an officially announced trial period without having to decide on a Game Package straight away.
After the expo
If you want to keep playing after a trial, start small. An affordable Starter Pack and simple missions will teach you more than a large ship you cannot yet use effectively.
Read the guides to first missions and common beginner mistakes before spending money.
